News from Fireman's Hall Museum:
Members’ Night – February 21, 2013
Fireman’s Hall Museum members travelled to Station 38 in the Northeast to see the city’s newest LEED silver certified fire house, the first in the city complete with a green roof, public art and a connection to the past with the incorporation of the city and state seals salvaged from the PFD headquarters at 1328 Race Street. Upcoming programs will feature a work night where members have a chance to help with collections. Please plan on joining us – we’ll provide the pizza! Thanks to our Wonderful Interns!
We have three interns working with us this semester, Breanna Wucinch and Dan Kennedy are working on design projects including the redo of our lobby area. Dan has designed some wonderful banners for the outside of our building – look for their posting of Facebook and you can vote for your favorites! Breanna is tackling a special exhibit on fire prevention and thanks to archives intern Dana Mollica, who processed them, Breanna has her pick of wonderful fire prevention posters and pamphlets to incorporate. The work of Fire Prevention over the last decades has significantly reduced the number of deaths and injuries resulting from fire and Fireman’s Hall Museum plays an important role in that education.Upcoming Special Events
